Description: Preservation Pub is a, mid-size, 21-and-up music venue, and restaurant/bar, with a capacity of 400 people. It was voted “Top 10 Best Pubs” by USA Today, and it’s easy to see why. Preservation Pub is loved by local music fans and tourists alike, an occurrence that can be hard to come by in the world of music. Often times, a music venue is either a local attraction, or a tourist attraction, but not both. Preservation Pub is a refreshing combination of the two, which speaks to its world class status as a music venue. The best part, by far, is the fact that they have live music EVERY SINGLE night. Not only that, there is often more than one performance every evening by local, and touring, musicians for a total of, about, 200 musical performances per month. This alone puts Preservation Pub close to the top of Who’s the Band’s favorite music venues, something that we hope everyone who is graced by a night here can agree with.

Preservation Pub has three floors, all equally interesting. The first floor, called “The Smokeasy”, is where most of the music occurs, and as the name suggest; it is legal to smoke on this floor. With space to stand, as well as to sit (not recommended), it is quite easy to have a good time here. This is the floor that most tourists coming to see a show will find themselves. The second floor, or “The Speakeasy”, hosts a lot of musicians as
well as comedians and artists. This is where the local music fan would find yourself before 10pm. Preservation Pub also has a rooftop space, called “The
Moonshine Roof Garden”, a great spot to relax outside and look over Market Square.

Overall, Preservation Pub is a must see for the dedicated music fan. It’s New Orleans speakeasy feel, along with the consistency of musical performances, make for a truly unique and tasteful spot to spend an evening.
